Before any of the terra cotta planters are sealed, the process begins out doors. First each pot and saucer are sanded to remove sharp or rough edges. After they are wiped with a damp cloth to remove "dust," they are then sprayed with flat white paint to create a perfect "canvas" for the design. This process is the first step in sealing the pot and ensures that the painted design will have true colors.
After the design is completed, the planter is given two coats of clear (non-yellowing) sealer inside and out to protect the artwork and prevent water damage from the inside out of the pot.
I wish you a blessed and magical day!
